Kurt's Guitar Silkscreen Print

$40.00

This is an early ugly print. My sister says it will be the one worth the most money if I'm ever famous.

It's several layers of artistic cacophony. The primary image is that of Kurt Cobain's 1959 Martin D18-E acoustic-electric guitar that he bought weeks before the famous 1993 Unplugged in New York. Beyond that are several other layers.

The soundhole features the reverse image of the Lucky Strikes logo, a favorite logo utilized by artist Ray Johnson. Johnson and Cobain are both referrenced in a written stream of consciousness that basically says, "Why can't I be more like them?" The stream of consciousness alone will give your introverted friends something to stare at for several minutes while avoiding socializing at your next dinner party.

This is a 7-8 color silkscreen print. Honestly, I can't remember. The plan for this was very loose and evolved as the layers went down. Pulled by hand in my basement studio.

Each copy is signed and numbered in an edition of 66 and measures 19 x 25 inches. Printed on 100# cover stock with environmentally friendly water based ink.

Free shipping is standard for US order. This print will ship rolled in a shopping tube due to its larger size.
